Why SheRockHunts?

Mental health is one of the biggest parts of our lives.

Taking care of your mind, heart and soul should be a top priority for you. Just the same as you sitting down with an empty cup of coffee, when you go to take a sip, there is nothing there. You can't pour from an empty cup, you can't grab a swig of coffee from nothing, and you can't feed into the lives of others without having a full cup yourself.

That's a hard pill to swallow because, at least for me, I want to be everything for everyone. I want to be able to answer every question and every comment, I want to be able to give advice where it's being requested and I want to make sure nobody feels alone.

But where can any of that come from if I'm sitting here, spinning out of control with all the struggles and trama that I haven't healed from. How can I console others when I'm a mess myself?

As an advocate for mental health, I've learned to heal and grow through things that are uncomfortable to talk about. No matter what the topic is, whether it be grief, stress, depression, loss, divorce, anxiety, PTSD, coming out, feeling alone, suicidal ideation, anorexia...you name it, I've grown through it, so my main mission here is to hopefully show you you're not alone in the struggles you're going through.

You can heal. You can breathe again. You can find yourself. You can laugh and find peace, as well. For me, the answer was nature, rocks, spirituality and finding my authentic soul and chasing after it.
